MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Thursday said the recantation of former Marine Orly Guteza was not surprising.
According to Lacson, the event was foreseeable as Guteza was previously identified as a “coached witness” by Sen. Rodante Marcoleta during a Senate blue ribbon committee hearing in 2025.
“Since it is already on record during the blue ribbon committee hearing that Guteza was a coached witness of Senator Marcoleta, and it was even broadcast live, it is no longer surprising that he would eventually backtrack,” Lacson said in a press release.
