MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Friday claimed that former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III was removed from the Senate leadership partly because some lawmakers felt he did not know how to “take care” of fellow senators, a remark Lacson linked to alleged expectations for funding and project allocations.

According to Lacson, one of the issues raised against Sotto during his stint as Senate president was that he supposedly failed to adequately “take care” of fellow lawmakers.

“What reached us was that the issue against Senator Sotto was that he supposedly did not know how to take care of his fellow senators,” Lacson said in an interview on True FM.
