MANILA, Philippines — Fewer dams across the country reported an increase in their water levels for the past 24 hours as the southwest monsoon or habagat continues to weaken, the state weather bureau said on Friday.

In its latest updates issued as of 8 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the water levels of these four out of nine monitored dams rose: Angat Dam, San Roque Dam, Pantabangan Dam, and Magat Dam. Meanwhile, the water levels declined for dams of Ipo, La Mesa, Ambuklao, Binga, and Caliraya.
