MANILA, Philippines — Most major dams in Luzon recorded lower water elevations on Saturday, May 16, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa’s latest monitoring data showed that six of nine dams registered declines compared to Friday’s levels.

The declining water levels come amid high heat indices across the country and earlier Pagasa warnings on the possible development of El Niño in the coming months.
