Suspended MP Fadiel Adams appears before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, where he made startling allegations.
Professor Brian Williams has strongly rejected claims that the late General Andre Lincoln advised or encouraged suspended MP and National Coloured Congress (NCC) leader Fadiel Adams to pursue criminal charges against senior crime intelligence officials.
Adams told the Madlanga Commission on Thursday that Lincoln was his contact and had advised him to lay the charges at the Orlando Police Station.
But Williams, who described Lincoln as a lifelong friend, brother and comrade, dismissed any suggestion that the former general would have supported unlawful or unethical conduct.
“As a lifelong friend, brother and comrade of General Lincoln, and as someone whom Andre publicly identified as his mentor, I feel compelled to place the following on record,” Williams, a well-known anti-apartheid activist and labour law expert, said.
