MANILA, Philippines — Asked what support President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. needs from the public — not just from politicians — House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos had a simple answer: It should work the other way around.
“We shouldn’t be asking of the people; the people should be asking of us,” he said. “Kailangan nating ipakita sa taong -bayan na nagtatrabaho talaga tayo.”
(“We have to show the people that we are really working.”)
In a recent interview with “Kwatro Alas” of PRTV Manila, the younger Marcos placed heavy emphasis on the idea that public servants exist to serve the public, not the reverse.
