MANILA, Philippines — A House member has heaped praise on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. after he touched on the proposed New Philippine Building Act and the Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7) in his fifth State of the Nation Address (Sona).
In a statement on Tuesday, Bulacan Rep. Salvador Pleyto said that it was impressive to him, being an engineer, that Marcos mentioned the new building code since government has to make structures are resilient to calamities.
Pleyto said the country is one of the most disaster-prone areas in the world.
“It was a comprehensive record of accomplishments and the president’s concrete plans for the remainder of his term,” the lawmaker observed.
