The Telangana government has further relaxed the upper age limit for direct recruitment to uniformed services by two years, providing additional relief to unemployed youth aspiring to join the police and other departments.The order, issued through a government order by the General Administration (Services-A) Department on August 14, adds two years to the five-year relaxation already granted in May this year.The latest relaxation covers direct recruitment to uniformed services in the Police, Fire, Prisons, Special Protection Force (SPF), Excise, Transport and Forest departments.The government said it had received several representations from unemployed youth seeking an extension of the upper age limit to enable them to compete in recruitment examinations.In May, the government had increased the upper age limit prescribed under the relevant special or ad-hoc rules by five years for a period of one year with effect from May 18, 2026.
