Telangana Government is ready to collaborate with the Indian Army to encourage the state’s youth to participate in various Indian Army recruitment drives, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said. The Chief Minister appealed to the Indian Army authorities to organise training programmes in some identified district headquarters to create awareness among local youth in army recruitment in a meeting with General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command of the Indian Army Lieutenant General C Rajesh Pushkar who called on Reddy here on Wednesday.Rajesh Pushkar said the Indian Army was ready to set up training centres for youth in various Telangana district headquarters ahead of nationwide army recruitment drives.Reddy also discussed the Army’s role in disaster management and requested the army to play a proactive role in rescue operations, evacuating people to safety, and rehabilitation efforts in flood-affected areas. The Lieutenant General assured he would instruct local Army officials to take special initiative during disaster situations in Telangana, according to a release.Published on August 12, 2026
