CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO, Philippines — A fisher was rescued after his motorboat submerged about six nautical miles (11 kilometers) off Barangay Cambijang in Cajidiocan, Romblon, on Thursday, Aug. 13, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.

The Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Cajidiocan received a report from a concerned resident that a fisherman from Sitio Ilawod, Barangay Cambijang, was aboard a blue-and-white motorbanca that had been damaged and was taking in seawater.

CGSS Cajidiocan, in coordination with the Cajidiocan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, immediately dispatched a rescue boat.
