A data center that could offer up to 50,000 sqm (538,195 sq ft) in floorspace was approved for construction on the Haslemere Heathrow Estate located in west London, the UK.

The Hounslow Council approved the application on Thursday August 6th, which calls for the construction of three data center buildings totaling on top of a land parcel currently occupied by a series of industrial warehouses called the Heathrow Estate.

A planning document shows that the data center would require 64MW of electricity, offering 48MW of IT load at a targeted PUE of 1.35.

The project was put forward by a company called Brixton (Heathrow Estate) Ltd, which is related to California-based real estate investment firm Kennedy Wilson.
