MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon, or habagat, will continue to affect most of Luzon and Western Visayas areas, bringing heavy rains until Friday, Aug. 14, the state weather bureau said.

“Malakas pa rin ang habagat na umiiral sa western portion ng ating bansa at kasalukuyang nagdudulot pa rin ng pag ulan sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon landmass at ng Western Visayas,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Loreidin de la Cruz-Galicia said in its 5 p.m weather advisory.

(The southwest monsoon remains strong over the western portion of the country and continues to bring rain to a large part of the Luzon landmass and Western Visayas.)
