A Russian jet-powered Shahed drone struck a passenger train in еру Odesa region, killing the train driver and his assistant.

Ukrzaliznytsia CEO Oleksandr Pertsovskyi announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"A targeted strike by a jet-powered Shahed on the locomotive of a passenger train in the Odesa region. Unfortunately, I have to report the worst: according to the information currently available, this strike left no chance for our locomotive crew – the driver and his assistant," Pertsovskyi said.

According to him, after a drone threat was detected, the monitoring team issued an order for the train to stop. At that moment, the train was entering a station to allow passengers to evacuate safely. The locomotive crew did not have enough time to bring the train to a complete stop and evacuate themselves.
