SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Two sea turtles were rescued and returned to sea after being found along the coast of San Narciso town amid strong waves brought by the southwest monsoon.

According to the municipal environment and natural resources office (Menro) on Wednesday, Aug. 12, the turtles were rescued in Barangay La Paz through the help of residents and Pawikan Rangers.

A 13-centimeter juvenile hawksbill turtle was found on Aug. 7 after large waves pushed it toward the shore. It was examined and found in good condition before being released into the Sto. Tomas River the following day.
