PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – A female endangered green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) was successfully documented, tagged, and released by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) Manukan Tuesday, July 28, after being accidentally caught in a fishing net off the coast of Barangay Siparok, Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte.
Reynaldo Cuaresma, CENRO Manukan officer, disclosed that a local resident, identified as Maise Balase, promptly reported the incidental capture, enabling authorities to respond immediately.
