TUGUEGARAO CITY — During a wildlife inspection and monitoring, a green sea turtle nesting site was discovered along the coast of Sabtang, Batanes, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO)-Batanes reported on Sunday.
The DENR, in a statement, said the nesting site was not among those identified in earlier monitoring activities conducted in the area, making the discovery significant for local marine wildlife conservation efforts.
PENRO-Batanes chief Victoria Baliuag immediately ordered strict monitoring and regular supervision of the area to protect the site.
