TUGUEGARAO CITY — A green sea turtle nesting site was discovered along the coast of Sabtang, Batanes, during a wildlife inspection and monitoring, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO)-Batanes reported on Sunday.

In a statement, the DENR said the nesting site was not among those identified in earlier monitoring activities conducted in the area, making the discovery significant for local marine wildlife conservation efforts.

To protect the site, PENRO-Batanes chief Victoria Baliuag immediately ordered strict monitoring and regular supervision of the area.
