Water level in the Stanley Reservoir in Mettur was nearing 80 feet, against the full reservoir level (FRL) of 120 feet, on Wednesday (August 12, 2026).According to officials of the Water Resources Department, the water level stood at 79.78 feet at 8 a.m., while the storage was 41.73 tmcft, against the reservoir’s full capacity of 93.47 tmcft. The inflow was 8,689 cusecs, while 1,500 cusecs was released into the Cauvery for drinking water. The area recorded 6.8 mm of rainfall.Meanwhile, the water level in the Bhavanisagar Dam in Erode district stood at 58 feet, against its FRL of 105 feet. As of 8 a.m., the inflow was 1,998 cusecs. A total of 800 cusecs was released into the Arakkankottai and Thadapalli canals, and 100 cusecs into the Bhavani for drinking water.
