With water released from the dam in Karnataka reaching Mettur Dam, the inflow increased to 11,988 cusecs here on Wednesday (August 5, 2026). The inflow on Tuesday (August 4, 2026) was 67 cusecs.According to officials from the Water Resources Department, the water level stood at 74.01 feet at 8 a.m. against the full reservoir level of 120 feet. The storage was 36.24 tmcft, compared to the full capacity of 93.47 tmcft. The discharge into River Cauvery for drinking water was 1,500 cusecs. No rainfall was recorded in the region.Meanwhile, the water level in the Bhavanisagar Dam in Erode district stood at 58 feet, against its full reservoir level of 105 feet. As of 8 a.m., the inflow was 3,296 cusecs, while the discharge into the Arakkankottai and Thadapalli canals was 750 cusecs and 100 cusecs into River Bhavani for drinking water.
