The Mettur dam is nearing its full capacity of 120 feet for the fourth time this year on Thursday (July 24, 2025).

The dam’s water level stood at 119.90 feet against its full capacity of 120 feet. The storage level stood at 93.45 tmc ft against its full capacity of 93.47 tmc ft. Inflow into the dam reduced to 19,306 cusecs from Wednesday’s (July 23, 2025) inflow of 20,450 cusecs. The amount of water discharged from the dam into the River Cauvery for delta and canal irrigations continued at 18,000 cusecs and 500 cusecs, respectively.
