A Three-Member Juvenile Court in central Greece has sentenced a 17-year-old to eight years in prison for the murder of a singer in Karditsa last March.
A second defendant, accused of complicity in the homicide, was acquitted, following the prosecutor’s recommendation. The trial was held behind closed doors due to the age of the accused.
Singer Giorgos Tsitoglou was stabbed to death on March 22 during an altercation with the two defendants outside a residence in the area of Kaminades. According to the testimonies of the defendants, the singer had allegedly asked them to supply him with drugs, but then refused to pay them. Police later recovered a butterfly knife in nearby grass.
Footage from cameras outside the residence caught the two teenagers running away after the attack, with one of them seen throwing away a knife.
