Focusing on West Mercia Police, the third instalment was a huge success with viewers "horrified" by what they saw.‌With detectives working around the clock for justice, viewers witnessed a chilling case from the moment a 999 call was made, right though to conviction as detectives uncovered horrified truths.‌Dubbed by fans as being "better than 24 Hours in Police Custody", viewers eagerly awaited new releases at 9pm on BBC One every Tuesday and Wednesday.Sadly for fans, the show will not return tonight or tomorrow and its replacement may come as a disappointment. Instead of airing Murder 24/7 at its usual 9pm slot, instead, BBC One will air the European Athletics Championships: Birmingham 2026 at 8pm right through to 10pm.‌The series will not return next week either, this is because series three has reached its end. The latest series saw six episodes released, the same as series two, while the debut season was made up of five episodes.It is not yet known whether the show will return for a new season, but true crime fans can re-watch old episodes on BBC iPlayer, with all instalments currently available to stream. An official synopsis reads: "In the pursuit of justice, every second counts.
