Safety Travels Limited has deployed an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant designed to simplify flight booking, provide travellers with real-time fare options and strengthen protection against online travel fraud.

The travel agency unveiled the AI-powered platform on Monday in Abuja at a media briefing, describing it as an effort to bring greater transparency and convenience to flight bookings while giving customers more control over travel transactions.

Joseph Agofure, managing director of Safety Travels Limited, said the company was the first travel agency in Nigeria to integrate an AI assistant directly into its website, allowing customers to search for flights and generate itineraries using voice or text prompts.

According to him, the AI assistant is accessible through any internet-enabled device and has been trained to understand several languages, including Nigerian languages and broken English.

He explained that a traveller could use a voice prompt to specify a destination, departure point and preferred travel date, after which the system generates available flight options and fares.
