A suspected armed robber was shot dead in Dutse after Jigawa State Police operatives foiled an attack and recovered weapons from the fleeing hoodlums.
This was confirmed to Arewa PUNCH on Thursday, in Dutse, the state capital, by the Police Public Relations Officer, Jigawa State Police Command, SP Shi’isu Adam in a telephone interview.
Adam said the operation was carried out by the Violent Crime Response Unit during a routine patrol along the Rashid Shekoni Teaching Hospital axis, Danmasara quarters in Dutse.
Adam narrated, “On Thursday, 6th August, 2026, at about 0300hrs, personnel of the Violent Crime Response Unit, while on routine pin-down patrol along the Rashid Shekoni Teaching Hospital axis, Danmasara quarters, Dutse, intercepted a tinted Sharon Galaxy motor vehicle, ash colour with registration no. ABC 440 KJ.
