An office building in Chicago, Illinois, is being targeted for a data center development.
Local press, including ABC, report the Permit Review Committee of the Commission on Chicago Landmarks has given the initial green light to convert part of the 300 West Adams Building, at 300 West Adams Street, into a data center.

According to filings, the developer has proposed converting a portion of the 12-story office building to a data center.
The project would include construction of a new ComEd vault on the first floor, data center equipment and support infrastructure on floors two to six, and the addition of backup generators on the roof.
