MANILA, Philippines – Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano allegedly threatened the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) to stop it from investigating supposedly illegally undertaken reclamation in Taguig, Sen. Panfilo Lacson said on Monday.

Lacson made the revelation at the same time he announced that the PRA would pursue another investigation into land that the agency confirmed was reclaimed by Taguig City without securing any permits.

“The reclaimed land may be benefiting residents, as former Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano claims, but the proper procedures and laws still have to be followed, including securing the necessary permits. The PRA said the city government did not secure a single permit,” Lacson first said about the reclaimed land in a DZBB interview.
