The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has said it intercepted a consignment of cocaine concealed in phone chargers being trafficked to Saudi Arabia.
The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a post on X on Sunday, warning that traffickers are increasingly exploiting everyday items to evade detection.
Babafemi said although the items appeared to be ordinary phone chargers, operatives of the agency were not deceived, as the consignment was found to contain concealed cocaine.
“On the surface value, these are phone chargers but @ndlea_nigeria officers won’t fall for that. Concealed in there are consignments of cocaine going to Saudi Arabia,” he said.
