Babafemi said the suspect was arrested on Sunday, July 26, with various quantities of cannabis, cocaine, methamphetamine, swinol, tramadol and codeine syrup, according to the statement.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted cocaine consignments ingeniously concealed inside a local mortar and the false bottom of a backpack, allegedly destined for China and Italy.
The anti-narcotics agency also announced the arrest of an alleged notorious drug dealer in Rivers State and another suspect accused of supplying tramadol to criminal elements operating in Zamfara State.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the NDLEA's Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, operatives of the Directorate of Operations and General Investigations (DOGI) uncovered the concealed cocaine during routine checks at a logistics company in Lagos.
The agency said officers intercepted 250 grams of cocaine factory-fitted into the base of a locally made mortar packaged for export to China, while another 500 grams of cocaine was discovered hidden in the false bottom of a backpack being shipped to Italy.
