MANILA, Philippines – Two flights were cancelled and seven others were affected by bad weather on Sunday brought by the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) reported.
As of 11 a.m., the two Cebgo flights were cancelled due to “strong wind/tailwind conditions in Masbate.”
Meanwhile, two flights were diverted, and five flights had to retry landing.
The diverted flights are Cebu Pacific Air’s CEB472 from Bacolod to Manila, which, instead, landed in Mactan at 5:51 a.m., and Malaysia Airlines’ MAS708 from Kuala Lumpur to Manila, which was also diverted to Mactan and landed at 5:22 a.m.
