Railway engineering works for the maintenance and rehabilitation of bridges in the Erode–Karur section will result in changes to train services on August 11 and 13.A release from the Salem Railway Division said Train No. 56809 Tiruchi–Erode Passenger, scheduled to leave Tiruchi Junction at 7.25 a.m., will be short-terminated at Karur Junction on both days and will not operate between Karur and Erode.Train No. 16845 Erode–Sengottai Express, scheduled to leave Erode Junction at 2 p.m., will instead originate from Karur Junction at 3.05 p.m. on August 11 and 13. It will not operate between Erode and Karur on these days.Likewise, Train No. 16844 Palakkad Town–Tiruchi Express, scheduled to leave Palakkad Town at 6.30 a.m., will be short-terminated at Pasur station, between Erode and Kodumudi, on the two days.After completion of the works, the train will operate from Pasur to Tiruchi Junction as an unreserved special with the same stoppages as Train No. 16844, the release added.
