OLONGAPO CITY, Philippines — A couple, both businesspersons, survived a shooting allegedly carried out by a dismissed police officer here on Friday (Aug. 7), after their two sons and several witnesses managed to pin down the suspect until police and barangay responders arrived.

Police identified the suspect as Jerry Baman, 41, a dismissed police officer and resident of nearby Barangay West Bajac-Bajac.

Olongapo City Police Station 4 received a telephone call shortly after 8 a.m. from Barangay Old Cabalan Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) personnel reporting the shooting and immediately dispatched personnel to the scene.
