The forest personnel have successfully caged a sloth bear that killed one person near Kadayam on July 31 and released it in the jungle on Friday.When watchman G. Murugan of Tana in Vickramasingapuram had gone to the farm at Vadamalai Samudram near Kadayam on July 31 evening, a sloth bear mauled him to death.Subsequently, the forest personnel kept cages at four spots and fitted cameras to monitor the movement of the animal.As an 8-year-old male sloth bear was caged on Friday around 1 p.m., forest veterinarian and the officials inspected the animal, which was later released in the jungle beyond Mundanthurai of Kalakkad – Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve in the evening.
