State government establishments and private companies implementing the Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS) will be organising a selection camp on August 10 in Thanjavur.The Collector, R. Revathi, said in a press release that the State-owned Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Kumbakonam Division, the Tamil Nadu Power Generation and Distribution Corporation, Aavin, Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation and others and private MSMEs would be participating the PM-NA mela to be held on the Thanjavur ITI premises on Monday.Selected candidates would be trained to upgrade their employability skill and were entitled to receive a stipend of ₹6,800 to ₹12,300 depending on the vocation in which they were seeking to upgrade their skill and the training period.The camp would be held on the Thanjavur ITI premises on August 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and those holding ITI diplomas, B.E. and other degrees on vocational courses were eligible to attend the camp in addition to those who have cleared Class VIII, X and XII examinations.Those who have cleared the school education examinations would be selected as ‘fresh apprentice’ wherein they would be trained for three to six months and later enrol themselves in the ‘entrepreneurship trainee’ programme for one or two years like the diploma or degree holders.
