The Board of Intermediate Education in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (RDSDE) will organise an apprenticeship-cum-job mela from July 6 to 14 at five junior colleges across the State.The programme, being organised under the Skill India mission and National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme, aims to connect vocational students and freshers with leading industries for apprenticeships and direct placements, BIE said.Candidates attending the mela will get access to on-the-spot interviews, career guidance from experts, and multiple job roles across paramedical and non-paramedical streams. And selected candidates for apprenticeship training would receive a monthly stipend of ₹9,600 as per the Apprenticeship Act.The initiative is open to vocational students from batches 2023–2026, job seekers and freshers who passed the Intermediate Public Examination and the Supplementary examinations this year, or in the last three academic years. Only candidates who have not undergone or completed apprenticeship training earlier are eligible.As per the schedule, on July 6, the mela will be held at SKPM Govt. Vocational Jr. College, Quthbullapur, at Kasturba Gandhi Junior College, Secunderabad, on July 7, Govt. Vocational Jr. College at Hanamkonda on July 13, and Govt. Vocational Jr. Colleges in Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda on July 14.Director, BIE, Abhilasha Abhinav said the mela is a focused initiative to bridge vocational students with industry. It brings leading companies, diverse job roles and apprenticeship training to one platform.Beyond placements, candidates will be provided with career counselling, skill development guidance and on-the-spot shortlisting so that the youth can step into meaningful careers, she said, encouraging the candidates to participate.Candidates are required to carry two copies of their resume, educational certificates and Aadhaar card on the day of the mela.
