A temporary exhibition featuring icons, woodcarvings, and tapestries has opened at the Vanga House Museum in Petrich, honoring the legacy of the renowned Bulgarian prophetess and marking the upcoming Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
The exhibition includes 18 icons, three woodcarvings, and five tapestries dedicated to the Holy Virgin Mary. All of the works were donated to Vanga during her lifetime by people wishing to express their gratitude, faith, and respect.
This year's display also commemorates the 30th anniversary of Vanga's death, combining the anniversary with one of the most important Christian holidays dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
According to Magdalena Shimova, the exhibition is housed in the museum's temporary exhibition hall, allowing different collections to be displayed throughout the year.
"This is a temporary exhibition hall, so the exhibition is also temporary. We also have more icons of the Holy Virgin Mary, which are part of the permanent exhibition inside the Vanga House Museum. During the year, we also periodically display icons of St. Petka and Jesus Christ in this exhibition hall," Shimova said.
