A major Salvador Dali exhibition titled “Triumph of Imagination” has opened in the “Lyuben Gaidarov” Gallery in Pernik, southwestern Bulgaria, presenting more than 300 works by the iconic Surrealist artist. Organizers describe it as the first exhibition of this scale dedicated to Dali ever staged in the country, and also the first time the collection has been shown in Eastern Europe.
The exhibition brings together a wide-ranging selection of Dali’s creative output, including painting, graphic art, illustration, sculpture, design, fashion-related works, advertising concepts, and cinematic projects. Among the featured pieces are well-known works such as “The Persistence of Memory,” “The Face of War,” “The Cosmic Elephant,” as well as illustrations connected to Dante’s “The Divine Comedy.”
According to the gallery director, Galina Dekova, the exhibition is structured to present both original works and supporting reproductions in order to provide a complete artistic narrative. “The originals are approximately 150, while copies and reproductions have been included solely to complement the narrative,” she said, adding that the aim is to help visitors understand the full development of Dali’s artistic journey.
