Sir, – Only in Ireland would one find the Government rolling out a “public awareness campaign” to challenge stereotypical gender norms between men and women while the Constitution says the exact opposite; namely that a woman’s place belongs in the home (“New public information campaign warns of the terms ‘tradwife’ and ‘manosphere’”, August 6th). One need not try too hard to find the term “tradwife” in Ireland – it is written in black and white in Bunreacht na hÉireann – and to make matters worse three-quarters of the population voted to keep it there at the last referendum. – Yours, etc,TOM McELLIGOTTListowel, Co Kerry.
