Head of Investigations at IDAC Matthews Sesoko, admitted to being part of the Project Diversion against top police officials.
Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head of investigations, Matthews Sesoko, admitted to being part of Project Diversion and was aware of the operation targeting Crime Intelligence officials, the Madlanga Commission heard.
The concession came after sustained questioning by commission chairperson Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, who challenged Sesoko's attempts to distance himself from the operation.
Faced with evidence presented before the commission, Sesoko accepted that he had been involved throughout the process.
Sesoko confirmed attending a Project Diversion meeting on January 22, 2025, but said he could not recall any discussion about an alleged plan to set up suspended National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola.
