Madlanga Commission hears from IDAC investigations head Matthews Sesoko.

Madlanga Commission resumed hearings on Thursday, with Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) Head of Investigations Matthews Sesoko on the stand, to shed light on the conduct of former head Advocate Andrea Johnson and the inner workings of the unit.

Sesoko told the commission that certain matters, including the crime intelligence cases, were deemed “sensitive” and could only go to Johnson’s office.

Sesoko’s appearance follows a series of testimonies from IDAC officials who have raised questions about operational decisions, internal processes, and accountability within the directorate.

The commission has heard evidence about how investigative responsibilities were assigned, with Johnson previously telling proceedings that key operational decisions, including assessments on potential investigations, were handled by officials such as Sesoko and Dylan Perumal.
