A Gallup International Balkans survey shows that public support for Bulgaria’s government remains relatively strong after its first 100 days in office, while the cabinet’s foreign policy is facing significant criticism.
According to the nationally representative poll, conducted by telephone between July 24 and August 4 among 821 adult Bulgarian citizens, there has been no major shift in public trust toward the main political forces. The ruling Progressive Bulgaria continues to maintain the high level of support it received in the latest parliamentary elections, keeping a wide lead over GERB.
The survey found that 42% of respondents approve of the work of Prime Minister Rumen Radev’s government, while 33.6% disapprove. The cabinet has a positive approval balance of 8.4 percentage points, although 24.4% of respondents said they had no opinion.
The president remains the most trusted political institution in the country. Iliana Yotova received approval from 48.4% of respondents, while 30.2% expressed a negative opinion, giving her a positive balance of 18.2 percentage points.
