A new Market Links survey commissioned by bTV shows President Rumen Radev with a record 56% level of public trust, positioning him as the only political figure with a positive balance between trust and distrust, at 56% versus 22%.

The poll presents him as a broadly unifying figure in a political environment marked by long-standing polarization. Analysts cited in the survey note that confidence in the broader political system is improving mainly due to expectations of change, rather than institutional performance.

According to the findings, trust in parliament has increased significantly, rising from 6% in April to 19% in May. Despite this improvement, it remains well below trust levels in the executive branch.

The survey also suggests that public confidence in the newly formed government is at a historic high, but remains largely tied to Radev personally rather than to individual ministers or institutional structures, a factor the analysis describes as a potential long-term vulnerability.

Market Links notes that attitudes toward the country’s direction have shifted noticeably toward optimism, driven by expectations of systemic reform. However, the political landscape remains fragmented, with a large share of undecided voters, including over 300,000 supporters of “Progressive Bulgaria” who have not firmly confirmed their electoral preferences.
