Rongai residents cautioned once again, after a dead hyena was discovered by the roadside

Residents of Ongata Rongai have been told to stay alert during their morning runs after a dead hyena was found by the roadside.

In a clip that has since gone viral on various social media platforms, shows a dead hyena by the roadside on top of a guard-rail as its being recorded by a man wjo then says, "Kwa wale wapena morning runs mukuwe careful, tumepata uyu mjamaa (hyena) hapa".

The discovery has since raised concerns online because hyenas in this area have attacked people before, and allegedly, some even tested positive for rabies.

Though early warnings from them indicated that that the southern side of Nairobi National Park is a wildlife corridor, and members of the community needed to be alert because animals can move into nearby estates.
