Parliament suspends NCC leader Fadiel Adams.
National Coloured Congress (NCC) leader and Member of Parliament (MP) Fadiel Adams will have his salary docked after he was suspended for 20 days from Parliament under the Powers, Privileges and Immunities of Parliament and Provincial Legislatures Act.
Adams was found guilty by Parliament’s Ethics Committee for contravening Parliament's rules. His suspension was confirmed by the Speaker Thoko Didiza’s spokesperson, Reggie Ngcobo, yesterday. Ngcobo said Adams’ suspension is based on an offence he committed on June 10, 2025. He said that he was taken to the Ethics Committee by the DA for publishing an email with the names of DA staff members on Facebook.
“On the recommendation of the Ethics Committee, he was found guilty of contravening Parliament's rules. The report was sent to the house, and it agreed with the report. He was ordered to apologise publicly and be suspended for 20 days with his 20-day salary docked,” said Ngcobo.
Adams said he had already tendered his apology for publishing the names of the DA staff members. However, he appeared to stand by his earlier calls for an investigation into the disappearance of 27 guns in the City of Cape Town.
