Sir, – I totally agree with Niall Fitzgerald’s letter (“A Striking Contrast”, August 4th) on Connolly Station and Belfast’s Grand Central. I was in both stations last week and was told that Belfast Grand Central was a “quiet” station. When I asked for elaboration, I was advised that there are no public announcements. Returning to Connolly I was subjected to a number of garbled and incoherent announcements that were made, which made me none the wiser.Perhaps Connolly should change to the quiet station approach. – Yours, etc,David R Pike,Glenageary, Co Dublin.
