Europe appears most divided when it is tested at its borders. The burden is often left for frontline states to shoulder alone, while others seem to cling to the illusion that distance offers protection. Greece has demonstrated its ability to manage such challenges, including those driven by ulterior motives. It can and should play a leading role in shaping a coherent European migration policy.
