Prime Minister Rumen Radev said Bulgaria has managed to recover lost time after years of political weakness and delays, following the country’s receipt of nearly 1 billion euros under the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Speaking before the start of the regular government meeting, Radev said the funds would support a range of important projects, including the construction and renovation of kindergartens, metro development, the purchase of medical helicopters and the creation of energy storage facilities.
“The government and the majority in the National Assembly managed to make up for lost years of negligence and political weakness,” Radev said, adding that Bulgaria is continuing to work with its European partners without making empty commitments.
The prime minister thanked government ministers for their work on the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan and highlighted progress on commitments linked to the next payment. He said Bulgaria was protecting its interests while seeking reforms and projects that bring real benefits.
