Ramanathapuram district monitoring officer directs officials to expedite development works

A review meeting to evaluate ongoing development projects across various government departments in the Ramanathapuram district was held on Tuesday.The meeting took place under the chairmanship of M. Vallalar, Commissioner of Labour Welfare and Ramanathapuram District Monitoring Officer, in the presence of District Collector M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran.Ahead of the meeting, the District Monitoring Officer conducted field inspections across the district to evaluate public infrastructure and welfare schemes.His visits included inspecting newly constructed zonal equilibrium water storage tanks in Natham and Perungulam villages built via the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board, as well as reviewing overhead water tanks, household drinking water connections, anganwadi centres, and local school facilities in the Rajasingamangalam panchayat.He also inspected the Rajasingamangalam Panchayat Union Middle School, the Social Welfare College women’s hostel construction site done by the Public Works Department, and working women’s hostel projects managed by the Social Welfare and Women’s Rights Department.Further, he assessed the functioning of Integrated Child Development Services Anganwadi Centres, Public Distribution System shops, a groundnut seed farm and sprinkler irrigation setup in Valanthai village through the Agriculture Department, and canal rejuvenation initiatives within the Ramanathapuram Municipality under the Municipal Administration Department.During the official review meeting, Mr. Vallalar urged department heads to rectify shortcomings identified during field visits and accelerate the completion of all pending projects without delay.Comprehensive reviews covered multiple sectors, including the Revenue Department, District Industries Centre, TACTV, Differently Abled Welfare Department, Social Welfare Department, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, TWAD Board, Horticulture Department, Public Works Department, Rural Development Department, Public Health Department, Highways Department, and Municipality and Town Panchayat Departments.
