The UAE and Syria have reactivated their joint business council, forming a new platform to strengthen trade and investment ties between the two countries.

Gulf states are moving swiftly to invest in Syria's future following the fall of Bashar Al Assad's regime and the removal of western sanctions.

DP World has begun operations at Syria's Tartus port, with around $800 million in infrastructure upgrades planned.

Syria is also expanding its economic outreach, holding trade talks with Lebanon to bolster ties between the two neighbouring countries.
