President Cyril Ramaphosa says the opening of the new 220-bed King Nyabela Hospital marks a major milestone in expanding comprehensive healthcare services, as the facility officially opened its doors to serve communities in Mpumalanga's Steve Tshwete Local Municipality.
President Cyril Ramaphosa officially opened the 220-bed King Nyabela Hospital in Mpumalanga.
The hospital, which will serve 240,000 people in the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality, was officially opened on Tuesday.
Ramaphosa was joined by Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovu, Steve Tshwete Local Municipality Mayor Cllr Mhlonishwa Masilela, Nkangala District Municipality Mayor Cllr Thomas Ngwenya, Chairperson of the Provincial House of Traditional and Khoisan Leaders Kgoshi Lameck Mokoena, as well as community, religious and traditional leaders.
Ramaphosa described the opening of the hospital as a "milestone" in the quest to ensure quality healthcare services for the people of Mpumalanga.
