Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the August 15, 2026 Osun State Governorship election, on Monday, declared that the party’s sole objective is to defeat Governor Ademola Adeleke and reclaim the state for the APC.

Governor Uzodinma, who also chairs the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF), spoke at the inaugural meeting of the campaign council held at the Kano State Governors’ Lodge in Abuja, where he directed all subcommittees to immediately commence work and submit strategies aimed at securing victory for the party.

BusinessDay reports that Osun State is currently governed by the Accord party with Governor Ademola Adeleke seeking a second term in the August 15 governorship election.

Governor Uzodinma stressed that the meeting was convened strictly for service and planning, not celebration, insisting that every member of the campaign structure must focus on delivering victory for the APC.
